The old adage “you are what you eat” applies to the hungry pores of your skin too. Those lovely microscopic windows that dutifully take in all the cleansing agents, make- up applications and environmental conditions you subject them to on a daily basis become what you feed them.
If you are in the habit of a daily skin regime that requires a chemistry degree and monthly deductions from your piggy bank, it’s time for a paradigm shift. Overly fussy skin care products full of unpronounceables can actually have the adverse effect - causing clogged pores, thirsty skin and skin eruptions. If you have acne - at any age - check out our blog entry titled, “Your Skin’s Story.” If you do not suffer from acne but want to ensure the health and beauty of your skin over your lifetime, keep reading.
The ritual of care that you enjoy from a collection of “over-the-cosmetic-counter” products does not have to be missed. You can create the same feeling of luxury and nurture in the comfort of your kitchen - for pennies on the dollar.
Raw Food pioneer Alissa Cohen has touted the anti-bacterial and moisturizing properties of organic coconut oil - the only product in her beauty regime.
Natural beauty author and Real Simple contributor Sue Dolan espouses the benefits of raw honey and fresh cranberries.
I love the simplicity of a weekly oat and rice milk scrub - made to order - and my daily does of E3 Live. Good for the skin good for the good body. Their Light Polish is also a wonderful daily scrub and lasts for ages as long as you keep it dry.
If you wouldn’t put it in your mouth - if you can’t imagine enjoying a dessert spoon of your day cream or a shot glass of your toner - it doesn’t belong on your face.
For inspiration check out these natural beauty resources. Yum!

Blood is that fragile scarlet tree we carry within us.
Making the mind body connection is critical to overcoming suboptimal lifestyle patterns - like eating a Just Desserts Mocha Cake in its entirety when stress strikes.
A down and out Australian transformed his life - and his life patterns -by engaging his powers of visualization to accelerate the law of attraction. His “mind movie” concept involves producing a short film or slide show coupling inspiring music with compelling images symbolic of the experiences, emotional states and materials you desire.
Change your mental patterns. Change your physical reality. Good mind. Good body.
Ryan advises you to view your “mind movie” daily and to live into a giddy state of great expectation.

Inflamed gum pockets breeding bacteria and odorous vapors, edging down to to the bone of your teeth? Not in this good body. Stinky bloody gums do not lend themselves to kissing sessions or wide mouth smiles. No, they are the tell tale sign of stress and other bodily ills.
The health of your luscious wet mouth is a window into the state your body. Good or not. If your dentist insists that you are simply brushing too hard and you need to floss more, check out the research of Dr. Robert O’Nara, DDS. Like us, he’s certain Western dental protocols actually lead to the erosion of your should-be rosy gums.
If you are on a quest to restore your good mouth and your good body by harnessing your bodies natural healing mechanism - instead of invasive, costly dental procedures and harsh chemical rinses - check out these resources:

Oh beloved exterior organ! Protective, sun kissed storyteller!
My skin wears the tell tale signs of housebuilding, pregnancy, sunny climates and rough sports. But when I’m hydrated and well nourished - inside and out - it glows. Truly.
It also signals my excesses - when I’ve had too much sugar or too little sleep. When I’ve been fueling up on caffeine instead of life giving water and energizing teas, my skin erupts in protest. Yes, even at 32, white spots and unruly black heads can dot the canvas of my face as if to alert everyone that my good body is out of balance. Beware. Be wary. She’s off kilter.
I also notice when I put on too much weight, the pores on my upper arms become raised and fatty with oil.
The elegant cleansing system that is our skin never lies.
If you or your children suffer from acne, skip the skin care aisle at your local Walgreens or CVS. The cosmetic counter won’t help either. Nope. Open your pantry cupboard instead. Peer into your refrigerator. Turn on the water. Clear, radiant skin is not the exclusive privilege of dermatology clients or spa regulars.
Fran Kerr and her stellar team of homeopaths and naturopaths have demystified the quest for clear skin. Her All Natural Intensive Acne Treament Program offers step by step instructions and coaching that’s worked to restore the balance and clarity of many an acne riddled body.
Your good body wants you to have glowing skin! Pour yourself a tall glass of water, take a deep breath. Your best outfit is your skin.
